The St. Martinville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating three individuals wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on July 25, 2026, at Adam Carlson Park, located in the 800 block of Isadore Street. Officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots and found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Two victims were transported by Acadian Ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the other two were treated at the scene. Authorities reported that all four victims sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives concluded that at least three or four individuals were involved in the shooting. Arrest warrants have been issued for Aaron Hopper, who is wanted on charges of attempted second-degree murder, illegal carrying of weapons, and illegal use of weapons; Dvek Jones, who faces the same charges; and Devontae Francois, who is wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, interfering with a law enforcement investigation, and interference with medical treatment.
Police warn that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are urged not to approach or attempt to detain them. Anyone who sees these individuals or has information about their whereabouts is asked to contact the St. Martinville Police Department at 337-394-3001 and request Deputy Chief Odis Ledet. Investigators emphasize that every tip, no matter how small, could prove valuable, and anonymous information will be accepted.
The department also expressed gratitude to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and assistance throughout the investigation. Authorities hope continued public support will help bring those responsible to justice and enhance community safety.
