A man has died following a tragic incident at a coal mine in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, leaving workers and the wider community shaken.
Emergency services were called to the mine site on Watt Street in Warkworth, approximately 23 kilometres west of Singleton, just after 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, following reports of a serious crash.
Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District, along with Fire and Rescue NSW, attended the scene where they located a man who had been struck by a truck. Despite the response of emergency personnel, the man—believed to be in his 50s—was pronounced dead at the scene.
