The Warwickshire community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of a six-year-old girl who tragically died following a collision involving a car and a tractor on Fosse Way near Moreton Morrell.
According to emergency services, the crash occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, along the stretch of road between the turning for Compton Verney and the Five Ways Roundabout, which connects to the B4100 Banbury Road. The incident involved a Volkswagen Tiguan and a tractor.
West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to the scene alongside air ambulance crews and paramedic officers. A six-year-old girl who was a passenger in the vehicle sustained critical injuries and received advanced trauma care at the scene before being airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she sadly died the following morning, Saturday, August 1.
Three other occupants of the car, including two children and an adult woman, were taken to hospital for precautionary checks. Authorities reported that they, along with the drivers of both vehicles, were shaken but did not sustain serious injuries.
Warwickshire Police attended the scene and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Specialist officers are currently supporting the girl’s family during this devastating time.
In a statement, police confirmed they are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area around 5:00 p.m. on July 31, particularly along the B4455 near Moreton Morrell, to come forward as enquiries continue.
The tragic loss of such a young life has deeply affected the local community, with many expressing their condolences and support for the grieving family.
